If you need to transport your motorcycle for tracks days, racing or otherwise, then it is important that you know how to transport your motorcycle safely. You need to prevent the bike from rolling backwards or forwards, tipping left or right and the tyres from slipping.
The best way to ensure that the load is secure is to use a dedicated motorcycle trailer which features seated grooves for the bikes wheels to sit in. The bike should then be secured using wheel chocks to ensure no rolling of the bike and ratchet straps which provide secure tension to hold the bike in place.
If you only have access to a flat bed trailer then it is still possible to safely transport the motorcycle. You will need to secure the wheels in place using purpose built wheel chocks and also a couple of heavy duty ratchet straps to secure the bike in place. Whilst you do not need to go over the top, it is important that you are 100% happy that your securing methods will keep your motorcycle firmly in its place.
Ratchet straps are available online and from many hardware stores. They are available in a range of different styles and load weights. How to Secure a Motorcycle on a Trailer by GM MyLink
